Mission Statement

Transformational Tours assists the children of Mother Earth in connecting more deeply with her and their hearts through journeys conducted in a reverential, compassionate and friendly spirit to sacred land, places and meeting with the wisdom holders of Mother Earth.

It is the heartfelt intention of Transformational Tours to:

Facilitate personal healing through connecting with Mother Earth at her sacred sites and sharing the Oneness Blessing (Deeksha).

Bring people to the realization of the interconnectedness of all life and how to live in harmony by connecting with wisdom traditions and indigenous leaders.

Develop a community filled with awe and reverence for our planet and universe through sacred journeys/pilgrimage and through shared experiences.

Story of Transformational Tours

Mount Kailash

In August 1998, driven by an inner calling, I made my first pilgrimage or sacred journey. By these terms I mean a journey with the intention of unveiling the layers of my identity or mind in search of the depths of the soul that lies within. On a business conference to Hong Kong I visited Lantau Island and the huge seated Buddha, something opened in my heart and with the backdrop of sweet Chinese devotional Buddhist music I cried away several layers of hurt and pain. My intention was to travel from there to Tibet but visa restrictions made me change my destination to Kathmandu in Nepal. I felt instantly at home in the foothills of the Himalayas and my first visit to Bodhanath (the Tibetan Buddhist centre of Kathmandu), sealed my fate – the feeling I felt on entering through the walls surrounding the shrine sent my mind into a spin and a golden glow in my heart. From that day I made it my life’s mission to search out the sacred places of Mother Earth, those made by man but most of all the natural wonders sculpted through and by nature and to connect with the ancient wisdom traditions and indigenous cultures that are in touch with the beauty and the majesty of life and its mysteries.

In 2000, I quit my financially lucrative yet spiritual poor work in London and made pilgrimage my life. I believe Mother Earth is a living being and the rivers, valleys, mountains, volcanoes and more are just as much a part of her body as your ears, mouth and chakra system are yours. In fact Mother Earth’s body is far more advanced, our bodies are in fact part of hers. This being so, when I travel I do so with a sense of reverence as if exploring the labyrinth of the gods, open to receive grace and spiritual transformation at every step. And more than my individual growth my prayer is that I may be of greater service to other people’s evolution and the planet as a whole.

In 2002, whilst sitting in a tea tent at Bodhgaya, India listening to a Tibetan singer tell Western Pilgrims of his American Tour and the ancient legend of a North American tribe that matched the story of his native tradition (10,000 years ago there was a great flood, people high on the Tibetan plateau built great boats and set sale for the East, to the great continent of America). A still small voice spoke to me from the centre of my heart, making me aware that it would be my path to discover this truth (of the interconnected nature of all people and all beings on Earth, both seen and unseen) and lead others to the same truth through sacred journeys. In that moment Transformational Tours was conceived.

Uluru - Central Australia

I spent the four years from 2000 to 2004 visiting the major sacred sites of Mother Earth which many people compare to the chakra system (Uluru and Katja Tjuta in Australia, Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar in Tibet, the Ganges in India, Mount Shasta in California, Machu Picchu and Lake Titikaka in the Andes of Peru and Bolivia, Mount Fuji in Japan, Stonehenge in England, The Kimberley of Western Australia and many more). When I wasn’t travelling I was dreaming the next journey, studying ancient wisdom and practicing Tibetan Buddhism. In 2003 I met, Azriel my love and life partner, and with the birth of my two daughters I discovered the confidence to unfold my life plan.

In August 2008, Transformational Tours was born with our first journey being to the Kimberley of Western Australia, a magical land, the most ancient landscape on Earth, home to the oldest wisdom tradition, intimately connected to the star system the Pleiades – the star system many indigenous tribes on Earth say they originate from.

To my mind and heart, the three most important energy centres on our planet are Mount Kailash in the far West of Tibet, akin the crown chakra and the masculine energy centre. A pilgrimage to Mount Kailash undertaken with the right intention is an incredibly life transforming experience and a place I intend to visit again and again.

Lake Titikaka - Island of the moon

On the exact opposite end of the globe is Lake Titikaka, the high altitude lake of the Andes, the feminine energy centre of the planet and akin to our sacral chakra. People who journey here experience deep physical and emotional healing and a sense of connectedness to their own essence and life everywhere.

The third place, which is approximately half way between the previously mentioned great sites, is the Central Desert of Australia, Uluru as well as Kata Tjuta and Atila. For me this is the child, the perfect balance of masculine and feminine akin to the flowering of the heart. Not surprisingly it is home to the gentle and magnificent aboriginal people, those whose spirits dreamt the Earth into existence. I was born in Africa and raised in England yet even as a young boy I knew Australia would be my home the pull of this golden ancient land and her people to me was very strong.

These three sacred sites I visit regularly, to pay homage, receive healing and connect with the wisdom keepers of the land. My journeys are not limited to these places as I travel to the lands and sites spoken to me through my imaginal mind (dreams and waking dreams and the dance of synchronicity).

I look forward to taking these journeys with you, one that calls to your heart. Through it may you come to know yourself more deeply and revere the life that flows through you.

Namaste, In Lakesh and travel well
