The Heart of Africa 11 November - 08 December 2007

This journey is the one I dreamt of making for many a year. I was born in Africa and my heart has always been connected to this land. In 2006 on my way back from Mount Kailash, having just completed the kora, we stopped at a tea house on the high Tibetan plateau (probably serving a dozen or so customers a day). Leanne and I were discussing which part of the world was most calling us next. We decided on Mount Kilimanjaro - as we entered and sat down beside the yak dung fire we heard American voices in the corner raving over the previous years' adventure to "Kili". That is when the journey was cemented in place and from there synchronicity took the reigns to the point of a diamond studded itinerary, one that just makes me smile from deep inside just at the thought of the journey. Providence decided we would have the treat of spending the day with Credo Mutwa, Africa's last serving Wisdom Holder for many of the tribes. We were also granted special access to the White Lions through Linda Tucker. This is on top of the jewels of the African landscape - Victoria Falls, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti Plains, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Victoria. An amazing experience back to the land of my heart.

Dharamsala, India 2 - 18 January 2007

During our tour of Dehra Dun and McLeod Ganj / Dharamsala - the new centres of Tibetan Buddhism in exile from Tibet - we had the opportunity and great pleasure of audiences with His Holiness Sakya Trizin (head of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism), His Holiness Drikung Kyagbon Chetsang Rinpoche (head of Drikung Kagyu lineage), His Eminence Ninth Khalka Jetsun Dhampa Rinpoche (head of Jonang lineage) and Alak Rinpoche (attendent of recently passed Kyabje Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche) as well as Shri Shivarudra Balayogi an enlightened Indian mystic and Saint.

Our heartfelt thanks goes to these masters and their attendants and schools for allowing us this great honour and blessing. We also had a lot of fun immersing ourselves in Tibetan Buddhsim and asweel as both Tibetan and North Indian culture. Thank you to Dorjee Tsering our host and guide.

Mount Kailash and TIBET May 16th - June 12th 2006

Including Guge Kingdom and the monasteries of Lhasa, Shigatse and Gyantse.
Mount Kailash is considered the holiest mountain in the world, the physical anchor for the legendary Mount Meru, the physical anchor of the universe by members of the Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Bon (native Tibetan tradition) faiths. Kailash is considered the seat of Shiva and the crown chakra of the world, for me it is the ultimate pilgrimage place on our Great Earth Mother.

The pinnacle of the journey was the sacred circumambulation of Mount Kailash. Known to Tibetans as a Kora, we took 4 days to walk around the mountain – when undertaken with an open heart and positive intention this is said to clear this lifetimes karma.

Kalachakra Empowerment, Amarawati, India 1 -19 January 2006

The Kalachakra is the highest tantric empowerment available to the public. It is part of the Vajrayana school of Tibetan Buddhist teachings. His Holiness The Dalai Lama bestowed the Kalachakra Empowerment for the 30^th time in his current incarnation, in Amarawati, India in January 2006. The empowement and prelininary teachings were carried out over 14 days and attended by in excess of 100,000 people at the temporary Kalachakra grounds on the Western bank of the Krishna River.

The event was held in Amarawati, a particularly auspicious place as this is where Lord Buddha first introduced these teachings into the physical realm approximately 2,500 years ago.

The Kimberley, Western Australia 11 - 22 August 2005

The first ever Transformational Tour followed in the footsteps of a personal journey I took a few years before. We travelled in a 16 seat AWD bus, camping under the stars by night. The main sacres sites visited were Windjana Gorfe, Mitchell Falls, El Questro, Purnululu (The Bungle Bungles), Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater (for full moon) and Geike Gorge. The trip ended full circle at Broome, just in time for the tri-annual spectacular of the Staircase to the Moon, on the mudflats lapping the shores of Broome.
